At Kidztales, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to participate fully and joyfully in life. We’re a team of passionate professionals who are dedicated to breaking down barriers and making therapy a fun, engaging experience for kids. We focus on helping kids learn and apply functional skills in a supportive, real-world-like setting — building lasting confidence and skills that carry over into everyday life.​

Hannah Im, S-LP (C) Reg. CASLPO

Clinic Director, Registered Speech-Language Pathologist

Hannah founded Kidztales with the hopes to create a barrier-free life for kids with varying communication profiles.

Combining her educational background of developmental psychology and speech-language pathology, Hannah is passionate about a holistic and family-centred approach to therapy.

Hannah brings a wealth of experience in areas such as preschool speech and language, gestalt language processing, social communication, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), motor speech, literacy, executive functioning and caregiver training.

Hannah provides services in English and Korean. She is committed to preserving cultural heritage and fostering diversity, and she offers consultations on healthy bilingual language development in children.​​ Outside of her clinical work, Hannah loves to explore new indoor playgrounds with her husband and toddler daughter!

Hyunji Shin, S-LP (C) Reg. CASLPO

Registered Speech-Language Pathologist

Hyunji received her Master of Health Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto. Hyunji has practiced as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Seoul and Pyeongtaek, South Korea, providing culturally-sensitive speech and language services to multilingual communities, including international schools, US military families, and multicultural families.​​

Hyunji is passionate about working with children and adults with motor speech (Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Acquired Apraxia, Speech Motor Delay) / articulation disorders, stuttering, language delay, and cognitive communication disorders. 

She also loves supporting non-speaking individuals and individuals who benefit from augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).  Hyunji takes a family-centred, strength-based approach to supporting individuals' communication, while following best practices to ensure therapy is evidence-based, effective, and meaningful. Outside of clinical work, Hyunji is involved in research focusing on speech sound disorders, provides professional development lectures internationally, and spends a lot of time baking and cooking various cultural foods!

Irene Min, MT
Reg. OCT 

Education Associate, Speech-Language Pathology Assistant

Irene is an Ontario Certified Teacher in Canada. Her teaching qualifications include: Basic Qualification in Elementary and Intermediate grades (K-Gr.10). She also has additional qualifications in Teaching English Language Learners and Reading I.

Irene currently works at an elementary school in Toronto District School Board. (TDSB). Prior to working in TDSB elementary schools, Irene has taught various student groups in language academies in Toronto, Canada and Seocho, South Korea.

Irene’s journey as an educator began with the combination of love for children and interest in language and linguistics. She studied English and Spanish Literature, and further obtained Master of Teaching at University of Toronto - Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She also has a TESOL certificate, qualifying her as an English Instructor within and outside of Canada. Irene is fluent in Korean and English. As an educator, she strives to help children excel and thrive academically, while also helping individuals foster a growth mindset.

Mackenzie Cheng, OT, Reg. COTO

Registered Occupational Therapist

Mackenzie is a registered Occupational Therapist based in Ontario, Canada.

She holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MScOT) from the University of Toronto and a research-based Master of Science in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from Western University. Her graduate thesis explored caregivers’ lived experiences with home exercise programs for children with developmental delays, highlighting the importance of family-centred care and collaborative goal-setting—principles she integrates into her daily practice.

Mackenzie has experience supporting neurodivergent children and adults, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and global developmental delay (GDD). Her areas of focus include sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, and gross motor development. Mackenzie provides services in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. She is committed to building strong partnerships with families and empowering children to participate meaningfully in their everyday activities. Outside of work, Mackenzie enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and cooking (she makes a pretty mean dumpling!). Lately, she has been experimenting with baking and homemade ice cream—always up for trying something new!
