Q: Who leads the group programs?
Our Group Programs are run by a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Communicative Disorders Assistant/Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (CDA/SLPA; under SLP supervision) and/or Occupational Therapist.
We are also pleased to welcome Master's and Post-Graduate Certificate Program Students to join us in providing a rich social context for our Kidztales learners.
Q: What is the group ratio?
The number of staff to children may range from 1 staff to every 3 - 4 kids.
Q: How are groups formed?
Group membership is carefully determined by our therapy team based on a few factors such as: age, communication competency level, social interests, etc.
Q: What is the eligibility for the group programs?
For the success of all group participants, participants must:

Be able to communicate using simple sentences

Demonstrate a need in one or more of the following areas: executive functioning, literacy, social communication, expressive language, receptive language, handwriting

For the safety of self and others during the session, child must not demonstrate injurious or exit-seeking behaviour
Q: Are the group programs covered by insurance or OAP funding?
While group speech/occupational therapy is covered by most insurance providers, please confirm with your insurance provider on the eligibility for coverage.
Our group therapy services are eligible for OAP funding use.
