ARTICULATION

Articulation refers to the ability to produce speech sounds correctly. Our articulation services are designed to help individuals improve their ability to produce speech sounds, which can help them communicate more effectively with others.

AUGMENTATIVE & ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION (AAC)

Our AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) services support individuals needing alternative communication methods. We offer personalized assessments and tailored solutions to empower effective communication. Our team collaborates with clients to provide the right tools, enhancing independence and quality of life. We offer ongoing coaching for families and educators, which is integral to the successful implementation and use of the AAC.

DEVELOPMENTAL LANGUAGE DELAY

Developmental language delay refers to a delay in the development of language skills. Our early intervention services are designed to help children improve their language skills, enabling them to achieve their full potential at home, in school, and beyond. Intervention for children with developmental language delay takes a strong family-oriented approach, ensuring that the family members are actively involved in each step along the child's language development journey.

MOTOR SPEECH / CHILDHOOD APRAXIA OF SPEECH

Motor speech disorders, including childhood apraxia of speech, affect a child's to plan and coordinate the movements needed for speech. Our services offer evidence-based therapy designed to improve speech precision and motor planning through tailored exercises and techniques. 

SOCIAL COMMUNICATION

Social communication refers to the effective use of language in various social contexts. Our social communication services aim to enhance individuals' pragmatic language skills, enabling them to navigate different social situations with increased confidence and proficiency.

CAREGIVER COACHING

We provide parent coaching to help parents develop effective communication skills for their children. Regardless of your child's current communication level, our team is dedicated to offering personalized consulting that caters to your family's specific needs.

Speech-Language Pathology

Speech therapy helps people of all ages strengthen their ability to communicate. At Kidztales, we're especially passionate about helping kids build the speech and language skills they need to thrive!

Assessment

During the initial assessment session, a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will start by getting to know your child through fun and interactive activities. They will elicit some tasks to check how your child understands and uses language and other communication domains. The SLP will chat with you to learn more about your child's overall development and work with you to understand your main concerns.

Standard SLP Assessment

  • Primary concern in one domain

  • Duration: Approx. 60 minutes long

  • Cost: $250​

Comprehensive SLP Assessment 

  • Concerns in more than one domain

  • Duration: Approx. 90 minutes long

  • A comprehensive report is included

  • Cost: $450

Literacy Assessment 

  • Assessment of reading and writing

  • Duration: Minimum 120 minutes long​

  • A comprehensive report is included

  • Cost: $550

Treatment

Following the assessment, the SLP will work with you to collaboratively develop realistic goals for your child. They will recommend an intervention plan, which will include the number of sessions per week, duration of each session, etc.

With the personalized intervention plan, the SLP or therapy assistant will work with your child through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities to build communication skills. They may target areas such speech sounds, vocabulary, sentence building, or social conversation. Following each therapy session, you will be provided with updates and tips to support your child’s progress at home.

  • 50 min session + 5 min consultation + 5 min documentation
