Welcome to your very own restaurant!
At Junior Chefs, campers get to plan, create, and run a pretend restaurant from start to finish. They’ll come up with a restaurant name, design menus and signs, take on different roles, prepare simple no-cook foods, take customer orders, and practice serving their guests.
Throughout the day, campers will rotate through roles such as chef, server, customer, and cashier, giving them lots of opportunities to practice real-life communication in a fun and meaningful way. They’ll also take on challenges like remembering orders, following visual recipes, handling changes, and working together when things don’t go exactly as planned.
While they’re busy running their restaurant, campers naturally practice functional communication, sequencing, following directions, working memory, conversational turn-taking, perspective-taking, and flexible thinking.
