Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
As a speech-language pathologist, you will be assessing and treating clients 18 years and under. Your caseload may comprise of:
Late Talkers
The SLP will work with late talkers and their caregivers by providing strategies to encourage communication through play and engaging activities. They will also offer guidance to parents on how to support language development at home, making it a collaborative effort.
Speech Sound Disorders
The SLP will support kids with speech sound disorders through structured exercises to improve the production of specific speech sounds. Activities may include repetition, sound discrimination games, and engaging fun, interactive practices to make learning enjoyable and effective.
Language Disorders
The SLP will support children with expressive and receptive language disorders by helping them develop the ability to understand and use language effectively. Through targeted activities and exercises, they will enhance children's vocabulary, comprehension, and overall communication skills, fostering improved interaction with peers, caregivers and educators.
Social Communication Challenges
The SLP will target social communication by providing specific strategies to improve the ability to engage in conversations and understand social cues. Through engaging activities and personalized support, they foster essential skills that enhance children's interactions with peers and promote more effective communication. The SLP will demonstrate neurodiversity-affirming approach throughout the process.
